Man In OKC Apartment Fire Dies From Injuries

Fire officials said a man has died from injuries sustained during an apartment fire Sunday in northwest Oklahoma City.    

Crews responded to the 4200 block of N. Meridian Ave. and found visible smoke coming from a single-story apartment.

Firefighters had to force entry into the apartment. During the search they located the victim. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to officials.

In an update Tuesday, officials said the victim succumbed to his injuries. He has not been identified at this time.

OKCFD said this is the sixth fire fatality of the year.

Investigators said the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
