(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is giving a four (m) million dollar grant to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Officials say the grant will be used to prepare firefighters, paramedics and police officers for bioterrorism attacks.

OU educators will focus on anthrax, plague, smallpox and tularemia.

Center director David Johnson says the Health Sciences Center is one of 19 federally funded bioterrorism preparedness centers in the United States.

Emergency personnel from Texas, Kansas and New Mexico will also be trained at OU.
