Former Henryetta mayor dies

(Henryetta-AP) -- Former Henryetta mayor WR Dick Stubbs has died at the age of 83. <br><br>Stubbs was chairman emeritus of First National Bank of Henryetta and formerly owned a local trucking business.

(Henryetta-AP) -- Former Henryetta mayor WR Dick Stubbs has died at the age of 83.

Stubbs was chairman emeritus of First National Bank of Henryetta and formerly owned a local trucking business. He died Sunday.

Funeral services were set for Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta.

Stubbs was mayor of Henryetta for ten years. In 1985, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

As mayor, he presided over civic improvements including an enlarged sewer system, a new civic center and an airport.
