Strong to severe thunderstorms are likely in the state from Friday afternoon through the evening. A cold front that is slowly moving to the south through the state will serve as a focus for thunderstorm development.
Risks with storms today includes frequent lightning and heavy rain, while the severe storms could have large hail and damaging winds.
Thunderstorm activity is expected to gradually diminish through Friday night.
Saturday afternoon, there is a risk for strong to severe thunderstorms in far western Oklahoma.
Generally through Wednesday of next week, Oklahoma will remain in a hot and humid weather pattern, with a slight chance each day for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
