A popular Greek restaurant is closing its doors after 29 years of serving up traditional Greek food. Angelo and Helen Dimas, owners of Greek House, are headed back to their homeland of Italy after three decades in America.
In 1979, the couple opened the restaurant, working 12-hour days, six times a week.
"It gives me a lot of energy," Angelo Dimas said. "The work gives me a lot of energy."
For the couple, the initial move to Norman provided loyal customers and life-long friends.
"I enjoy it. Everybody is so nice," Helen Dimas said.
For the customers, the Greek House also provided a family atmosphere.
"I just get excited any time I'm going to be going to Norman that I can eat at Greek House," customer Amy Estep said. "We just love the food here, and I love the atmosphere with the family."
After 29 years in Norman, the Dimases decided to put the Greek House up for sale, and head back to Greece. The couple said it's time for them to retire.
