EDMOND, Okla. -- There are a lot of people coming together to help a metro teen transform her life, starting with diet and exercise.
Sierra O'Brien, 15, has already had a hard life. Behind a bright smile is a girl who was neglected.
"When I lived with my mom, she wasn't involved with the best of things and just really let my weight get out of control. At nine, I weighed 305 pounds," O'Brien said.
She wrote about her early childhood when her mother was addicted to drugs- no exercise, only fatty foods. One day she said, her dad came to visit and found her "eating ranch dressing out of the lid."
The essay won her a spot in the Total Teen Transformation.
"We were all in tears, because Sierra has the motivation to make changes in her life. It was a beautiful thing," said Gina Ressler, who works for Signature Skin Care.
The Total Teen Transformation package consists of a personal trainer, nutritional counseling, and O'Brien even has healthy food donated to her. She will also receive services at Signature Skin Care, to melt fat and tighten skin.
O'Brien has done two weeks of dieting and exercising so far and it is making a difference.
"When I started my jogging schedule and I could barely get over like 10 minutes. I couldn't get over five," O'Brien said. "But now, I can jog 20 minutes without stopping."
She has gone from not being able to do one sit-up, to doing 25. O'Brien is setting goals and her personal trainer believes in her.
"There's no doubt in my mind. She works hard. She has great enthusiasm and like I said, she makes my job easy," O'Brien's personal trainer Patrick Hutton said.
