COFFEYVILLE, Okla. -- A church in Coffeyville is celebrating a very special homecoming, it's own.

A year ago, devastating floods destroyed the building of Bible Baptist Church. But Sunday, dozens of worshippers came together for their first service in their new home, a renovated school gym.

"This being a new, remodeled building, I believe it might draw a few new people in just to see what's new and what's been done. And by doing so, hopefully maybe someone will be turned to the Lord, "church member Dwight Cooper said.

To help the church, the city of Coffeyville sold the building to the church for about $3 per square foot.
