OKLAHOMA CITY- - TapWerks Ale House and Café is proud of Oklahoma City's new NBA team, so they've changed their menu to reflect their appreciation. Owner Jeremy Witzke has waited a long time to be able to support a professional team in Oklahoma.
"It's something that we can call our own," Witzke said. "When the Hornets were here, they were great and we appreciated them being here. At the same time, it's really nice to have our own NBA team that Oklahoma City can get behind and we can do things like this and know that it's going to here for a long time."
Thunder Club, Five on Fries and Big Man Nachos are just some of the items offered on the game night menu. Besides being filling and delicious, all the items on the menu can be fixed quickly.
"We can get people in and out very quickly," Witzke said. "They're running late for the game and they still want to have a little bite to eat. The can have a substantial food at a reasonable cost."
Taste, cost and speed aren't the only things TapWerks has kept in mind when creating their new menu. They've included items for those who are a little more health conscious.
"We always try and have some sort of healthy menu," Witzke said. "We've got a whole selection of sandwiches that are designed for the people that don't want to have something fried. They're trying to watch their weight. They're trying to be a little healthier."
When the game is over and you don't want to go home right away, TapWerks will be ready to serve you.
"We're going to keep our kitchen open till midnight," Witzke said. "I know some of the games end around 10, 10:30 p.m., somewhere in that time frame."
No matter the outcome of Thunder games, Thunder fans are always welcome at TapWerks.
"Win or lose, its fun," Witzke said. "We always have a great time here at TapWerks. We try and make sure our customers do as well."
