EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Intersatte 35 north of Edmond was closed for about an hour while firefighters battled a large grass fire.

The fire started after noon near the interstate and Charter Oak Road. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed the highway between Waterloo and Charter Oak roads.

Strong winds and dry cedar trees fueled the fire. Strong winds are posing a fire danger today for a large part of the state.
