FORT SUPPLY, Oklahoma -- Fire units battled a large grassfire near Fort Supply Sunday afternoon.
With dry, windy conditions affecting Oklahoma and burn bans across the state, many area were under fire watch warnings.
Earlier Sunday, grassfires threatened the town of Sharon, but firefighters were able to get the flames under control.
Five different blazes also threatened Woodward. Many homes and buildings were in danger, but fire units were able to get control of that blaze.
About 1,000 acres were burned around the town of Woodward and there was one small house fire, but officials believe it was an electrical fire.
Fire officials said one of the fires was lit by a cigarette, but the causes of the other blazes in Woodward County are under investigation.
