EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Two years ago a fireworks show in Piedmont went terribly wrong. Sadly, it took the life of Travis Dillard and his sister, Shannon Wilson.
Despite the tragedy, their family is using this anniversary to help others.
It's a difficult day for the Dillard family, but it's also a special day. The family is soon to launch a new CD.
It's called, "Out of the Ashes" and the songs were written by Travis before he died.
Bill Dillard is the uncle of Travis Dillard. He and his sister, Shannon Wilson, lost their lives after suffering severe burns in a fireworks accident two years ago.
Travis had a love for music; even his casket had musical notes on all four corners. When he died, instead of letting his talents go unheard his family decided to make a difference.
"Out of the Ashes" features Christian songs written by Travis. It was his dream to make a career out of making music.
Every detail of the CD was well thought out from the cover, which features a replica of a rose Travis drew his mother for Mother's Day, to the place where Travis fell during the accident.
Again, the launch party begins at 7 p.m.
Right after Travis and Shannon's deaths the family suffered another terrible loss. Their father, Jay Dillard, was killed in a car accident on the 21st birthday of his only surviving child.
