A gunman is on the loose and a victim in critical condition Saturday night after a shooting near northwest 10th and Purdue.
The shooting occurred at a beauty supply shop around 7 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, one man came from the apartments next door and confronted another man in the parking lot of the beauty shop. That's when he opened fire, shooting the victim multiple times.
Police say people inside the beauty shop heard the shots and a man inside ran out. He fired several shots at the suspect as he ran away. Investigators spent hours collecting several shell casings and there were bloodstains at the scene.
They don't know if the suspect was shot, but do say if he was he hasn't shown up at any hospitals.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Police are still looking for the suspect.
Officers aren't releasing many details about the investigation at this time. Only that the suspect is a black male who ran back toward the apartment complex after the shooting.
Police still do not know what led to the altercation.
