Nineteen years after the brutal murder of a Chickasha mother, a parole board has recommended the release of her killer.

In April of 1993 in Chickasha, then 20 year-old Quincy Foster approached a car with 34-year-old Debra Dennis and her mother Louise Johnson inside.

He demanded money at gunpoint. When the mother and daughter had only some change, he pulled the trigger.

The gun jammed when Foster first fired at Louise, but it did not when he pointed at Debbie.

"There's not a day I don't relive that hell," Dennis' mother Louise Johnson said.

Foster was given a life sentence for the murder in 1996.

Last week, a parole board recommended his release after serving 16 and half years in prison.

The vote was 3 to 2.

"How in the name of God they can turn this man loose is beyond me," Louise Johnson said.

"Even in denying his guilt, he has never shown any compassion toward the victim or anybody else," Grady County District Attorney Jason Hicks said.

Hicks says he will speak with Governor Mary Fallin about Foster's potential release. The Governor has the next three months to decide whether to sign off on Foster's parole.

In the meantime, Dennis' family is asking people to contact the Governor's Office and voice outrage over the parole board's decision.
