The Eastern Central University campus is in shock, after police say a freshman student kidnapped, shot and killed another freshman Wednesday night.

Police said 18-year-old Jerrod Murray admits he lured 18-year-old Genarro Sanchez into a rural part of Pottawatomie County, where he shot Sanchez twice in the head.

Both teens are freshmen at ECU.

Dean of Students Boomer Appleman said grief counseling is available to anyone who wants it.

"There is a lot of grief involved. We want to make sure everyone on our campus is taken care of," he said.
