Police have released the name of a pregnant woman who was found shot to death in her car late Thursday night in The Village.
Police were initially called out to investigate a traffic accident at Plymouth Lane and Sunnymeade; that's in a neighborhood near May and Hefner. When police arrived around 11:30 p.m., they found the body of 22-year-old Amber Dawn Stokke.
Police believe Stokke, who was six-months pregnant, was driving away from her home in the 103000 block of Sunnymeade when she was shot. Her car crashed through a front yard, and stopped after hitting a fence.
Police have not identified any suspects, but say a man was seen near Stokke's car at the time of the shooting. Another man was seen standing in a yard. Police have not released detailed descriptions of the men.
Police are asking anyone who may have any information about the homicide to call The Village Police Department at (405) 751-9564, or The Village Police Crime Stoppers at (405) 751-1234.
A memorial fund has been set up under Stokke's name at the Bank of Oklahoma. The mailing address for the memorial fund is PO Box 24128, Oklahoma City, OK. 73124.
