Strong winds associated with thunderstorms snapped trees and ripped roofs off local businesses along Main Street, sending them flying blocks away.

The winds left behind snapped tree limbs, smashed cars and roof damage early Wednesday morning as the storms rolled through.

"I saw a power flash and it kind of arched off of it so I knew then this was serious stuff," said Chad Sauceman, who lives on Main St. "I ran inside and got my wife. My wife was lying in bed and I was all 'get up get up!' and she's all, 'what, what, what?'"

A tree crashed down onto Sauceman's house as he and his wife tried to get across the street to a storm shelter. He said within 45 seconds, the storm was gone. But it had scattered debris across the town, blocking streets and knocking out power to several hundred customers.

"If that tree would have been six inches or a foot, you know, more to my side, you know, or their side, you know, either one it could have been really bad," he said.

By mid-morning, dozens of volunteers showed up to help remove the downed trees and patch up roofs. Sauceman says he's lucky nobody got hurt.

"The worst part was, it hit my satellite dish so I won't have TV for a couple of days. But I guess if that's the worst thing that happened, it's not too bad."

OG&E crews worked throughout the day to restore power to the area.
