Earthquakes Damage Homes In Northwest OKC Neighborhood

Residents in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood are showing News 9 the damage, after officials say at least 20 earthquakes shook our area over the weekend.

Oakdale Valley residents say the strongest quake Saturday morning shook them out of their beds. Mary Catherine Sexton says that even caused a large crack on a wall in her family's master bathroom.

"It is damage and we can only anticipate more," said Sexton. "Our houses are meant to take 27 earthquakes in a matter of seven days."

Sexton is helping organize a community meeting, where she hopes local geological officials will be able to explain things to residents in the area.

"It's our personal safety," said Sexton. "It's a big issue."
