The Logan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect who tried to steal cash from an ATM, but left empty-handed.

Around 5 a.m. on November 8, the suspect drove up to the Farmers and Merchant bank at 121 E. Waterloo Road, and tried to break into the ATM. The machine was damaged, but the suspect did not succeed. He drove away without any money.

Surveillance cameras recorded video of the suspect. He appears to be a white male in his 20s. He has a thin build and was wearing a dark jacket, striped beanie-style stocking cap, and a white cloth around his face.

The suspect was driving a late model, dark-colored Dodge Quad Cab pickup truck. Police say the truck is distinctive because it has what may be aftermarket alloy wheels. It also has damage to the driver's door and the driver's side rear quarter panel.

Authorities have released surveillance camera photos of the suspect and the attempted burglary. Anyone with information about the crime should call the Logan County Sheriff's Office.
