Prosecutors say an Oklahoma City man was shot to death in November after he came home and found his wife's boyfriend in a bedroom.
Donald Nelson, 38, was shot November 25 at a house in the 3800 block of S.W. 22nd Street. The victim's wife told police she and her husband had a fight on November 23, and Nelson assaulted her. After the assault, Nelson left the home and the wife's boyfriend, 41-year-old John Michael Torren, came to the house the next day and spent the night.
Around 7 a.m. Monday, November 25, Nelson returned to the home and banged on the front door. His wife says she let him in and he went into a back bedroom, where he confronted Torren.
Police say the two men had a physical confrontation and Torren shot Nelson during the fight. Witnesses in the house called 911 but Torren left the home before police arrived.
Nelson died at the scene.
Police later located and arrested Torren. He's charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony. Torren has a long criminal history that includes convictions for drug possession.
