A passenger jumped from a pickup truck that led an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy on a high-speed chase in southwest Oklahoma City.

According to the Sheriff's office, at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, a deputy was trying to pull over a pickup truck with broken brake lights at S.W. 32nd and May. However, the driver took off. That's when the pursuit began.

The deputy had to terminate the chase when a passenger inside the pickup jumped out of the moving vehicle at S.W. 45th and S. Miller. The deputy stayed to help that passenger who suffered head injuries, according to the Sheriff's office.

Several deputies searched the area and found the suspect vehicle in the 2300 block of S.W. 47th Street. However, the driver was nowhere to be found.

Deputies then searched the truck and found several weapons including knives and brass knuckles. They also found a small baggie with methamphetamine and a scale with drug residue on it.

The Sheriff's office describes the driver as a white man about 35 to 40 years old. He was wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and had a beard. If you have any information, call (405)-869-2501.

The passenger has been taken to the hospital.
