An Oklahoma City man, accused of severely beating his elderly father, is now facing murder charges after his father died from his injuries.
According to Oklahoma City police, at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, officers responded to a domestic situation in the 14000 block of N. Penn. When officers arrived, they found 91-year-old Theodore John Meyer severely beaten.
Meyer was transported to the OU Medical Center, where he later died on Saturday, June 28.
According to police, officers learned that Meyer's son, 61-year-old Donald Meyer, had attacked and beaten his father with a cane. Donald Meyer was originally arrested at the scene on a complaint of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
After his father died from his injuries, the complaint against Donald Meyer will be amended to reflect a charge of first degree murder, according to police.
