An auto accident involving a city bus has shut down the intersection of SW 5th St. and S. Robinson Ave., Thursday morning.
Crews were called to the scene just after 11:30 a.m. Authorities have not said how long they expect the intersection to remain closed.
According to police, witnesses in the area said a black Lexus sedan ran a red light while going eastbound through the intersection on SW 5th St. At the same time an EMBARK city bus was going northbound on Robinson and was struck on the left rear side by the Lexus.
Seven people on the city busy were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Police tell News 9 the driver of the Lexus will be cited for running a red light. That person was not injured.
