Two people escaped a house fire early Saturday morning in northwest Oklahoma City.

According to officials, firefighters responded to a house fire just before 5:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of NW 21st Street.

Officials said the rear of the house was engulfed with visible smoke and flames when firefighters arrived, but it was extinguished quickly.

Two people were inside when the fire started in the back of the house, but smoke detectors woke them up and helped them escape without injuries, according to officials.

There were no injuries reported in the fire. The cause is under investigation. Officials have not yet estimated the cost of the damages to the rear of the structure.
