Mom Arrested For Child Neglect After Kids Found With Intoxicated Woman In OKC

A mother was arrested for child neglect after Oklahoma City police said her children were found with an intoxicated woman on the sidewalk.

According to police, at about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a welfare check in the 700 block of S. Rockwell Avenue. The caller told police there were two children on the sidewalk with an intoxicated woman.

When officers arrived, they found the children, ages 3 and 1, and the woman, later identified as 57-year-old Diana Marie Cresswell on the sidewalk. Police confirmed that Diana Cresswell was intoxicated.

Officers contacted the children's mother, 33-year-old Jessica Renee Cresswell, who said she had left the children with Diana Cresswell. Police said the children were covered in dirt and exposed to conditions of filth and poor hygiene.

Jessica Cresswell was arrested on one count of child neglect. Police said she also had warrants out for illegal tag display, driving under suspension, and failure to show proof of insurance.

Diana Cresswell was also arrested on one count of public drunkenness.
