An Edmond Pee Wee league football player says he's got “mad skills,” and he recently sent something to NFL All-Pro J.J. Watt to prove it.
Last month, Anthony Tarantelli sent Houston Texans' star defensive end J.J. Watt his autographed Edmond Iron Men ages 6-8 jersey.
Anthony said he led his league in quarterback sacks this past season, and since he and J.J. Watt wear the same uniform number, and play the same position, it seemed like a good idea.
Anthony's family recently got a package from J.J. Watt himself. Inside were Watt's autographed Texans jersey, an autographed Texans cap, and the size 16 cleats J.J. Watt was wearing when he registered three sacks against Jacksonville last month.
Watt also sent a video message encouraging Anthony to always believe in himself.
But young Anthony was most impressed by Watts' cleats.
“My favorite part is the cleats still had mud on them from the game,” Anthony said.
His father Joe Tarantelli said, it makes him feel good to know a pro athlete his son looks up to so much has the kind of class J.J. Watt has. Anthony's mom Lauren thinks the whole thing is “Cool”. It's really cool,” she said.
