Well, snowmageddon it wasn't.

Transportation lines were shut down, curfews imposed because of the approaching snow storm, but it didn't play out the way the meteorologists thought it would. Now, they're taking to social media to apologize..yes, seriously.

Adam Rutt a TV meteorologist in New Jersey posted, "No other way to put it...this was a major bust of a forecast, the biggest in my short career. I was wrong, very wrong and I am sorry."

Gary Szatkowski, with the National Weather Service tweeted this out, "My deepest apologies to many key decision makers and so many members of the general public."

Kate Bilo a TV weathercaster in Philly simply said, "Alright, this dunce is headed to bed."

These folks sound like they've taken a public flogging for missing on this forecast. It did snow a lot, just not exactly everywhere they predicted it would.

I've seen it over and over here in Oklahoma how hard snow storms are to nail down, but no apology needed here.

Because, on the flip side I've seen the remarkable advances they've made in severe storm and tornado forecasting and that's life and death stuff.
