Your 2 Cents: Public Reaction To Media Coverage Of SAE Fallout

There has been a tidal wave of news coverage of the racial incident at OU, Kelly Ogle asked you what you thought about the coverage and a lot of you let loose.

Doug in Duncan said, “Waaaaay overboard!” He continued, “News 9 spent 9 minutes of a 15 minute newscast last night on the story. Is it that slow for news around here?"

Michele in Yukon, "ours here has handled it well but others states seem to be making all Okies out to be racists.”

Debra wrote from Edmond, "I am really disgusted with News9 for going to Dallas and showing the home of one of the boys."

Travis in Vici wrote to Kelly, “During Ferguson Mo. you scolded the media for promoting the entire situation and furthering the issue. Please listen to your own advice."

Christina said, "News 9 did a good job. It's the national news that blows it way out of proportion."

But Jeff in Ponca City wrote, "You guys have done an awesome job....stirring the racial tension pot!"

Tahda disagreed, "Can't complain. To me it's an awareness that it still does exist in the younger generation."

Kathy in Bethany said, "Maybe a slight over kill but I see where it was needed to make a point but I think maybe it is time to bury the story.”

Cheryl said, "I'm avoiding even watching the news because of the coverage! Done, over, move on!"
