Authorities in Norman responded to two accidents involving multiple vehicles Friday evening around 7 p.m.
Witnesses said several vehicles were damaged and multiple people were injured in the crash. Witnesses also said a truck was involved in the crash, traveling at a high rate of speed, hitting others at a stop light in the area.
Police said 29-year-old Raymond Williams was driving a pickup that struck a total of nine vehicles between Crawford and Porter Ave. And also hit a parked car at University and Main.
As a result of the collision, six people were transported to local hospitals with mostly minor injuries. One additional person was also transported by a personal vehicle. At this time, one of the injured persons remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition. All other persons involved have been treated and released from the hospital.
Preliminary results indicate that Williams may have been suffering from a medical condition that contributed to the collisions.
The incident still remains under investigation by the Norman Police Department and the OU Police Collision Investigation Reconstruction Team.
