Two burglaries in nearly 48 hours at a downtown Oklahoma business, were both caught on camera. And now police are on the hunt for the three men responsible.
A black truck pulled up to OKC Kayak just before 6 a.m. Sunday, July 3. Then, two men hopped out and started walking around the kayak store.
It took them about 45 minutes to cut the lock on the $1,200 kayak, load it in to the truck and take off.
The shop was closed Monday for the holiday, but Melissa Day and the store owner made a special trip to the store to grab a few things.
“Some customer showed up wanting to rent some boats and so we went to the side of the building to get one of the boats off to rent off, and we noticed it was gone,” said Store Manager Melissa Day.
The two men and the boat haven't been seen since.
Back at the store the next morning, the shop's door was found wide open.
And once again, cameras rolling recorded another man breaking in to the kayak shop on the corner.
Dust flew off the wall in the video as the shirtless man kicked in the front door. Once inside, he walked straight to the cash register, smashed it on the ground, collected the cash, and took off.
“It's crazy, for us to never have a problem like that before to happen you know back to back like that,” said Day.
Day said the guy only made off with a couple hundred in cash. But, two back to back burglaries has left her feeling uneasy.
“It's kind of creepy actually watching the video just thinking that there was someone in here and he just walked right to it like it was nothing,” said Day.
News 9 was told police have identified the shirtless thief, but all three men are still outstanding Thursday night.
