Man shot in northeast-side carjacking

A man was shot in the stomach after a group of men stole his car early Thursday morning, said police.

A man was driving down NE 50 St. at N Westminster Rd. in Oklahoma City at around 3:20 a.m. when another car pulled in front of him, said officials. About five men jumped out of the car, shot the man and then stole his yellow 80s-model Monte Carlo car, police said.

A nearby resident heard someone crying for help, went outside and found the shot man -- who has yet to be named by police. 

The shot man was transported to a local hospital and went into surgery early Thursday morning, officials said. There is no word yet on his condition.
