Two men were found dead near an Oklahoma City rescue mission early Thursday morning. Police said it appears the two men could be murder victims.
The men were found in the historic Stockyards area, close to the Grace Rescue Missionn. The Stockyards are a common place for field trips, and Thursday some elementary students came close to getting an up-close view of an un-wanted sight.
Children filed in one-by-one, ready to take in the sights and sounds of the Rodeo Opry. Inside the Opry, students from Maple and Flower Mound were being entertained, educated and oblivious to what was happening outside.
"I thought, well, we're going to have to figure out a way to get the kids away from that and in the door," Rodeo Opry volunteer Dustin Jones said.
Outside the Opry, police were busy trying to find out how two men died, while trying to keep the children away from the scene.
The children were detoured around the bodies.
The director of the Grace Rescue Mission said the men who died were not guests at his facility.
Police have not publicly identified the men yet. If you know anything about these deaths you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
