State Attorney General Drew Edmondson is asking a federal court to throw out a groups' attempt to take out portions of our state's new illegal immigration law.

The US Chamber of Commerce along with the Oklahoma City and Tulsa Chambers say the law would turn businesses into tax collectors and force people to discriminate against Hispanic workers.

Edmondson says the chamber has no legal standing and that federal court has no jurisdiction in state tax matters.

The portions of the law the chambers oppose take effect July 1.
