Mother drugged kids to go dancing, police say

Ana Reyes, 21, was arrested this past weekend after she drugged and left little children in her home alone so she could go out dancing, said police.

"The mother had apparently given some of these children some sleeping medication to put them down for the night while she went dancing," said Sgt. Paco Balderrama of the Oklahoma City Police. "According to the children this is not the first time that she has done that."

Neighbors called police after one of them noticed a child outside crying Reyes' home without a coat, police said.

Some of the children belong to Reyes, but officials said they are unsure if all the children are hers.

All five children found at the home are in protective custody Tuesday morning.
