Keep those cards...letters...and e-mails coming...

Since we started Power for your Pocketbook just a few weeks ago, some great ideas have arrived to our inbox.

That's how we heard about the Angel Food ministry.  It's a great way to shop for food save on higher prices, or help others who are in need of food.  We caught up with the ministry over at Greater Mount Olive church on NE 42nd and Kelley.

You can buy a box of food for $30 once a month. It includes enough to feed a family of four for one week, and it is a big savings. The Angel Food ministry provides fresh food, and if you bought it from a store it could cost you from $50 to $75 dollars.  Some people even buy food for others as a donation to the ministry.

Nearly 200 churches across the state are involved in the program. You can call Greater Mount Olive church in Oklahoma City to place an order.

And have you heard about the Postal Service's newest consumer innovation - the Forever stamp, featuring the Liberty Bell image and the word "forever."  It is good for mailing one-ounce First Class letters anytime in the future - regardless of price changes.

The Forever stamp is on sale now for 41 cents.  Once prices change May 12, the price of the Forever stamp will rise to the 42-cent First Class one-ounce letter price until the next time prices change. However, the 41-cent Forever stamps you buy today will still be the correct postage on first-class letter forever.

Hope you have a great week, and don't forget if you have a good savings idea - be sure to let me know at the link here on our webpage.  Or send your ideas and suggestions to my e-mail:
