I'm headed to Seattle today, somewhat full of fear and trepidation. I feel a little like I assume Mindy McReady would feel if she were headed to a Clemens family reunion.
Let's be honest. They're not big fans of "The OKC" up there. It is a little ironic that in the pursuit of two NBA franchises "The Big Friendly" has managed to tick off two major American cities. If you see me Live in Seattle tomorrow night with a steak over my eye you'll know it didn't go well with the Seattle media.
I'm anxious to see what kind of personality Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant has. That's the reason for our visit. Can this obviously talented basketball player follow in the very large footsteps of Chris Paul in Oklahoma City? Can Durant, a former Longhorn, capture our imagination? Can he be the larger than life rock star of a new team in a new city? My guess if KD won't be as media friendly as CP3, but as soon as he drops 35 and a game-winning fade-away three, nobody will care.
My biggest hope right now is to just get home safely without them stringing me up from the Space Needle.
