Stepfather arrested in toddler's death

A man was arrested after his 2-year-old stepdaughter was found injured in an Oklahoma City motel room.

Herman Marzelo Vail Bailon, 32, was initially booked on a complaint of child abuse, but that complaint was later upgraded to first-degree murder after the child died.

Police were called to the Sands Motel Saturday afternoon and discovered Lilianna Rodriguez, 2, unresponsive. The girl was rushed to an area hospital, where she died on Sunday, police Sgt. Gary Knight said.

Doctors at the hospital noticed bruising on the girl's body and discovered she had a fractured skull, Knight said.
