Residents are becoming concerned over the latest happenings at a popular metro convenience store.

Del City police said they're forced to increase police presence in the area.

"There's a large number of people congregating in the area, which has led to incidences, um, shots fired-type calls and things like that," Del City police Capt. Jody Suit said.

Police said they gave out 44 tickets, impounded 14 vehicles and arrested nine people in about two and a half hours during a recent safety checkpoint.
