BETHANY, Okla. -- Faced with an almost certain heart attack, Holly Wilson turned to her church for help.
A year ago the Oklahoma City school teacher was 320 pounds and a doctor had just told her if she didn't do something now, she was headed for a heart attack or stroke. That's when she placed a call to friend Chris Fetters. He works at the Council Road Baptist Church sports facility in Bethany.
"He has been instrumental in helping me change my life and become the type of teacher and type of person I need to be," Wilson said.
Wilson has lost 97 pounds so far with Fetter's help.
"He's a hero because he saved my life," she said.
Fetter said he's touched Wilson nominated him as an Oklahoma Hero.
"I don't see myself as a hero, just a tool that God has used to better someone's life," he said. "I just told her some things she wants to accomplish, she'll have to have a healthier lifestyle."
Watch NEWS 9 This Morning next Thursday to meet the next Oklahoma Hero nominee.
