Despite Economy, Shoppers Swarm Campus Corner

NORMAN, Okla. - Before the biggest game of the season, fans packed into Norman, many heading to Campus Corner for some early Christmas shopping.

Businesses said despite the economy, people weren't apprehensive about spending some big bucks in Norman.

With only a few home games a year, games like Saturday's are huge for stores around the University, especially with the economy slowing.

Businesses said women tend to spend the most money. In fact business owners said women will come to Norman just to shop while their husbands go to the game.
