Consumer Queen Spills Secrets of Savings

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma -- Since consumer spending is down, consumers may get even bigger deals then past years.

Black Friday, and the holiday shopping after, is the yearly ritual for serious shoppers, including Consumer Queen Melissa Garcia.

"I'm a huge bargain shopper," Garcia said. "If you don't plan ahead, you're going to miss out."

The Consumer Queen posts the ads and coupons on her website's message boards.

Garcia said compare ads, to find the best deals, check when stores open and decide where to hit first.

"A lot of the stores in the mall are keeping their sales top secret," Garcia said. "It takes a lot of work, but the early bird gets the worm they say, and if you're going to do the work, you're going to reap the rewards for it."
