NORMAN, Oklahoma - Many Sooner fans are spending some time online, trying to get tickets to the Big 12 Championship game this weekend.
The Sooner faithful are looking to follow the team to Kansas City and some are even looking beyond that.
OU has gone to six Big 12 Championship games. The game Saturday night in Kansas City will make seven.
Though these trips have become routine, the demand of fans wanting tickets hasn't slacked off at all.
Tickets went on sale Sunday night, and by 9:45 Monday morning, OU's allotment for students and non-students alike were gone.
"The allotment for the university is 8,500 and that's true for both schools, so we went through ours pretty rapidly, and the ticket sale is over," OU Sports Information Director Kenny Mossman said.
Ticket sales were over too soon for some students while other students have already made other arrangements to be in Arrowhead Stadium Saturday night.
"My parents are season ticket holders at Arrowhead Stadium, so we get a pre-buy about a year ago, and we bought them just in case something happened," OU student Jamie Doedeker said.
Meanwhile, other fans are procuring tickets and trips through travel agencies.
But a fan like Tracy Carrell was looking to book a trip to Miami to the National Championship game in Miami.
"We went when they played USC, and unfortunately OU was beaten, but that's why I'm anxious to go this time because I think we can win," Carrell said.
And as all fans know, Miami is a lot warmer than Kansas City this time of year.
The Sooners square off against the Missouri Tigers this Saturday at 7 p.m.
Tickets were being sold online at SoonerSports.com.
