OKLAHOMA CITY -- The troubled Oklahoma County jail will not be torn down.
Instead of building a new one, the Oklahoma County Adult Detention Advisory Committee is recommending the county build an additional annexed facility that will house a new medical center, a new kitchen and new rooms for minimum security inmates.
Several other internal changes are being recommended by the board, and the group is scheduled to turn its final report into County Commissioners next week for review.
