From News9 Meteorologist Stephanie Malone...
It feels like spring today as you head out the door, but the warm and windy conditions can prove to be dangerous. Highs will reach about 20° above normal in the lower 70s for much of Oklahoma under partly cloudy skies. Couple these warm temps with the extremly high wind speeds, and you have a recipe for high fire danger.
Much of Oklahoma is under a wind advisory today with strong southerly winds at 20 to 40 miles per hour with even higher gusts. With these conditions, if a fire starts today, it will spread rapidly and be very hard to conrol. Try to prevent the start and spread of wildfires today by doing such things as not thowing used cigarettes out the car window and avoid burning trash.
