ENID, Oklahoma - Enid police are investigating a possible connection between a stabbing that took place shortly before a man shot himself in a nearby store, according to Enid Police Lieutenant Eric Holtzclaw.
Holtzclaw said at about 2:45 p.m. Friday police were called to the scene of a stabbing. Police found Sherry Susan Lovely with multiple stab wounds. The 32-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.
At about 2:59 p.m., according to Holtzclaw, police received a call to a shooting at the Evans Drug and Sporting Goods Center. Police found 35-year-old Donald Gene Lovely with a single gunshot wound to the head. Holtzclaw said the wound appeared to be self-inflicted.
Witnesses said Donald Lovely brought in ammunition and asked to look at a gun. After loading a handgun, he shot himself in the head.
Holtzclaw said police believe the incidents to be related.
Donald Lovely was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
