Three more passengers on a Continental Airlines jet that veered off a Denver runway in December have joined a lawsuit in the crash.
The lawsuit alleges Houston-based Continental failed to properly operate or control the aircraft Dec. 20 as it veered off a runway and slid into a snowy field at the Denver airport, injuring 38 people.
The three passengers who filed their claims on Friday were Mark Reyna, of Houston; Nicholas Hamra, of Baltimore; and Jessica Mutschler, of Reisterstown, Md., their attorney Jason A. Gibson announced. They join five other passengers who are already part of the suit.
Continental has said it is prepared to defend the company's actions and those of the plane's crew. Aviation safety experts have said strong crosswinds likely were a factor in the crash.
