OKLAHOMA CITY -- A 20-year-old woman and her 13-year-old sister called police when they heard a man ransacking their house.
Thinking quickly, the older sister dialed 911 and police were dispatched to the home.
Oklahoma City police found 23-year-old Christopher Buchanan hiding under a mattress in a nearby bedroom and attributed the sisters' rescue to their calm behavior during the incident.
"Their safety was obviously the number one priority," Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said of the Oklahoma City Police Department. "They did everything rights and were able to stay calm and quiet when speaking with dispatch, but also not let the suspect know they were there."
Buchanan was later arrested on burglary charges and two felony warrants.
