From News9 Meteorologist Stephanie Malone...

Temperatures are already beginning to climb at an early hour today.  Temperatures are expected to climb into the 80s for highs today under partly cloudy skies.  Winds will be very strong from the southwest at 20 to 40 miles per hour with higher gusts.

With this combination of the warm temperatures and strong winds most of the state is either under a red flag warning or a fire warning today.  So make sure not to burn trash today and take other precautions.

Later this afternoon a cold front will move through the state, giving us a chance for some strong thunderstorms in far north and east portions of the state.

Friday will be dry, but 20 degrees cooler than today, with highs in the low 60s.  For the weekend highs will be in the upper 50s and 60s with rain likely late Saturday through early Sunday.  Most of central Oklahoma could see 1 to 3 inches of rain, with severe weather unlikely.
