BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say a line of storms has swept across the Southeast, bringing strong winds and possible tornadoes.
Two people in mobile homes were killed in north Alabama. Authorities say winds blew one home across the road, ejecting two people and killing one of them. Another home was hit by two falling trees, killing a man as he watched televised coverage of the storms.
Last night's severe weather knocked down trees, power lines and damaged homes in Georgia and Alabama. The National Weather Service says the storms struck six counties in the Tennessee Valley.
Thunderstorms, rain and possibly more severe weather are in the forecast for the Southeast coast today.
