OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Jim Thorpe All-Star football game recognized the achievements of high school athletes from the metro this weekend, naming the MVPs after an almost scoreless game.
The suburban team won the game 6-0 with the only points scored on a fumble recovery.
The suburban team's offensive MVP was Poco Moore, #11 from Tuttle. The defensive MVP was Willey Okwuono, #20 from Edmond Santa Fe.
The urban team's offensice MVP was Nick Cartwright, #12 from Mustang. The defensive MVP for the urban team was Money Davis, #41 from Star Spencer.
The Jim Thorpe Association says "these events recognize outstanding students in academics and athletics, promoting high school sports and encouraging personal achievement, sportsmanship and character."
