Woman Dies in Head-On Collision

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A woman died in a head-on collision on Interstate 44 between SW 104 and SW 119 streets Sunday.

Authorities said the woman drove off the shoulder of I-44 onto where the road was being resurfaced. She overcorrected her vehicle which sent the car over the cable barrier and into northbound traffic.

A truck was unable to stop and hit the woman's vehicle head-on. She was pronounced at the scene of incident.

The truck driver was taken to an area hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.

The woman's name has not been released.
